On Farm Opportunities
We’re hiring for 2026! Below are the different positions we are looking to fill.
Full season Farm Crew: Mid March/April thru October possibly some of November.
Full Time Hours: peak season approximately 40hrs/ week M-F, typically 8am-5pm. March/April and end of October - Nov. are reduced hours.
Pack Shed Specialist: Help us manage our pack shed. This includes washing, packing, counting, sorting. We harvest for CSA, Wholesale, and Markets. Need to be able to organize and keep the flow moving at a good pace to get through the work in a timely manner. This can be a part time position, 9am-3pm peak days are T/W/F.
Part time Delivery Driver: about 10-12hr/week. Must be comfortable driving a box truck in and around Madison and surrounding areas, keeping track of deliveries and safe driving record.
Market Assistant: Help us during market season May - October on Saturdays Spring Green, and Sundays Monroe Street market. This includes set up of the stand, re-stocking during, and helping customers and breakdown of the stand. Ideally comfortable with handling transactions and quick math. Preference to someone who can attend both markets.
Part time, Full Season Farm Crew: hrs. averaging 20-28hr/week.
Summer seasonal work is June - end of August depending on school schedule.
While part time offers flexibility we do need a set schedule. We have deadlines each week for deliveries and depend on our schedule to get fresh veggies out the door and to our customers promptly.

About the farm: Steadfast Acres is a diversified vegetable farm growing 3-4 acres of produce for CSA, Farmers Market & Wholesale in Madison and Spring Green. We are certified organic. Crew members can expect to participate in most areas of the day to day farm operations. At our scale, the day to day focus is hand labor. Field work (weeding / transplanting), harvest, and washing, sorting, counting storage, and pack of vegetables for either the Farm Shares, Wholesale, Farmers Market and other orders. A large percentage of the work will be working with one or both of us, but there will also be an expectation that once you are trained on a task that you can work independently or as part of a crew.
The farm crew position can be a great learning opportunity for someone newish to vegetable farming. It can also be a great opportunity for someone more experienced. Our hope is to work with someone who is interested in working with us for multiple seasons. The best possible outcome is to find niches on the farm for the right person to gain additional farm responsibilities or management of different roles in the farm system.
Requirements:
Outside work is necessary in all weather conditions, therefore employees are expected to dress accordingly and be prepared for changes in the weather.
There is a great deal of repetition required to perform many tasks, must be able to work with speed and efficiency.
Frequent and heavy lifting may be required. Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
Working in a bent / crouched / kneeling position is a constant in this line of work. Must be able to handle long stretches while maintaining speed and efficiency in the task at hand.
Must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment and be able to communicate clearly in both verbal and written form.
Punctuality is a must.
Time management and multitasking ability is essential.
A positive attitude is a must! The work is hard and can tedious. It is less so with a good attitude.
Compensation: Pay is hourly depending on experience and postion.
